Irish Language

An bhfuil Gaeilge agaibh and do you wish you had?

We in NIS wish to promote as many aspects of  Irish culture as possible. One area of our culture is of course an teanga gaelach.

We are canvassing both interest in arranging classes or a conversation group and also the level of existing competence within the Irish Society (including celtic language students).

We would be very interested in coming into contact with Irish speakers who would be interested in assisting in classes or just participating in conversation groups with others of varying language levels.

We would also like to know how many of you might be interested in participating in such. Some may be new to the language (Jackeens and non-Irish are also very welcome), others will be refreshing their school Irish (an bhfuil cead agam dul amach), others might just like the opportunity to meet fellow gaelgeoirs (mo leithsceal).

We are not defined by the Irish language but that each of us (and our kids) has got the cupla focal for the right occasion, if only to greet one another, is perhaps a reasonable target. Others can come into contact with fellow Irish speakers.

Could those interested please contact Robert O’Doherty on our culture committee to indicate interest.

Fad saol agat, gob fliuch, agus bás in Éirinn! and remember Tá m’árthach foluaineach lán d’eascanna.
